SRS Announces New General Release
-- MDE™ V4.0 --
Peabody, MA July 2004 – Strategic Reporting Systems (SRS) announced today the release of Mumps Data Extractor (MDE™) V4.0. This version: (i) expands MDE’s supported M/Cache platforms to include InterSystems Cache V4.1.16 running on VMS; (ii) adds a new enhancement to the MDE Client permitting it to wait indefinitely for a data extraction response from the MDE Server; and (iii) contains a number of other data extraction enhancements. With this and future planned MDE releases, SRS is enabling MDE users to operate with the latest InterSystems M/Cache systems.
MDE™ is a COTS (commercial-off-the-shelf) middleware application that natively reads the FileMan-based M/Cache' system, extracts then delivers data and pre-built SQL tables into relational data warehouses/marts, databases or applications. Unique to MDE™ is that it does not require underlying M-based SQL, SQL mappings, or M/Cache’ programming to be performed.
Within sixty minutes of installation, MDE™ allows a system’s data to be available for use in mainstream technologies, Examples are data warehouse/mart, RDBMS such as ORACLE and SQL Server, Web-based applications, OLAP, products such as ReportSmith®, Crystal®, SAS, ProClarity®, or desktop applications such as Microsoft® Excel, Word, Access, or Lotus® Notes.
