SRS Announces Powerful New Release
-- MDE™ V1.3 --
Peabody, MA, July 2000 – Strategic Reporting Systems (SRS) announced today the release of MUMPS Data Extractor (MDE™) V1.3. This release is in response to both tremendous demand for MDE™, and anticipation of additional customer needs. MDE™ V1.3 creates a new technology base upon which SRS can build enhancements to meet or exceed customer expectations for performance, platform integration, and ease-of-use. MDE™ V1.3 has further extended its reach into the VA’s VISTA system by being able to read and extract their Lab File data. This is an accomplishment few, if any, other company has been successful in achieving. This release demonstrates SRS’ continued commitment to improving its products in response to customer requests.
MDE™ is a COTS (commercial-off-the-shelf) middleware application that natively reads the FileMan-based M/Caché system, extracts then delivers data and pre-built SQL tables into relational data warehouses/marts, databases or applications. Unique to MDE is that it does not require any underlying M-based SQL, SQL mappings, or M/Caché programming to be performed.
Within sixty minutes of installation, MDE™ allows a system’s data to be available for use with mainstream technologies. Examples are data warehouse/mart and ROLAP, products such as ReportSmith®, Crystal®, SAS, or desktop applications such as Microsoft® Excel, Word, Access or Lotus® Notes.
MDE™ V1.3 was enhanced to include i) Integration of Microsoft’s® DTS (Data Transformation Services), ii) Capability to natively read and extract data from the VISTA Lab File and Accession File, iii) Ability to have MDE Client connection to multiple MDE sites to perform multiple concurrent data extractions, iv) Support for Oracle DBMS, and v) Improved TCP connectivity for enhanced performance.
